Zoho Datacenters are available in these regions:
- US
- Europe
- India
- Australia
- China
When you migrate your Zoho account from one datacenter to another (for example, from US to EU), all of your Zoho services including
WorkDrive will be migrated. Before you migrate your Zoho account, you should know the limitations in each service.
In the below sections, you can learn the migration process, understand what's migrated, what's not migrated, and other important details with regards to Zoho WorkDrive.
Migration process
2. Once we have the requirements, we will ask you for a preferred date for migration.
3. Our migration team will initiate your migration on the preferred date.
4. Once all your data is migrated, we will ask you to check and confirm the same.
5. In case of any failures in the migration, please report to us and we will try to migrate them again.
- The Super Admin or an Admin who initiates the migration will become our point of contact for all migration-related activities and issues.
- During migration, any changes made in the source datacenter (for example, the US) will not be migrated to the destination datacenter (for example, Europe).
- To migrate data, a new mirror account will be created temporarily in the destination datacenter. Once all the data is migrated, accounts will be swapped.
What's migrated
Team Members
Team Settings
Team Settings will be migrated.
Files and Folders
All active files and folders in My Folders & Team Folders will be migrated. Files and folders in My Folders and Team Folders' Trash will also be migrated.
Team Folders
All active Team Folders will be migrated. Previously deleted Team Folders will not be migrated.
Team Folder Members
All active Team members will be migrated to their respective Team Folders.
Share permissions
Share permissions will be migrated. Existing permalinks will no longer work. We will generate new permalinks for all files and folders. You need to copy and share the new links with your team members again.
This applies to:
External Links
All previously created external share links, download links, and embed codes will be changed. You need to copy and share the new links with external users again.
Groups
Groups will be migrated.
Comments
Comments' data will be migrated.
Recent files and Favorites
Recent files and Favorites' data will be migrated.
- All your data post-migration will be re-indexed for Search.
- Zapier and Zoho Flow integrations have to be reconfigured.
- MS Office and Gmail add-ons have to be reconfigured.
What's not migrated
File versions
Except the latest file version, other versions will not be migrated.
Checked out files
Checked-out status on files will not be maintained. The latest file version of the user who checked out will be retained as the top version.
Uploading files via email (Team Folder Setting)
The option to
upload files via email will be disabled in Team Folders after migration. You need to enable and configure this option again in Team Folder Settings, then share the new email address to the required users to upload files.
Deleted Items in Admin Console
Deleted Items from Trash of My Folders and Team Folders will not be migrated. These files will be permanently deleted, and you will no longer be able to restore or recover them after migration.

- File activity timeline
- Labels
- Theme settings
- User Preferences
- Data Templates and Custom Fields
- Team activity timeline
Limitations in Zoho Writer files
The following data from Zoho Writer files will not be migrated in Datacenter migration:
- Engagement Insights
- Ignored words
- Scheduled Mail Merge/Sign/Fillable jobs
- @mentions in comments
- Custom functions
- Linked spreadsheets
- Linked external data
- Chat history
- App Integrations (Reconfiguration required)
Limitations in Zoho Sheet files
The following data from Zoho Sheet files will not be migrated in Datacenter migration:
- @mentions in comments
- Custom functions
- Linked spreadsheets
- Linked external data
- Chat history
- App Integrations (Reconfiguration required)
Important things to know
Desktop Sync apps
Previously logged-in Desktop Sync apps will be disconnected from your computer. Any offline files saved in your computer will be removed. You need to log in to your sync app after migration to access your data.
Mobiles apps
Previously logged-in mobile apps will be disconnected, so you will need to log in to your mobile app after migration to access and/or import data.
Subscription and Storage add-ons
Your WorkDrive account will be
downgraded from the existing datacenter and upgraded in the new datacenter by the WorkDrive Support team. Your subscription plan and storage add-on will remain the same.
Users must add their payment details in the migrated account to enable
auto-renewal in future.
