Overview
Publish blog posts directly to your WordPress site, saving the hassle of copying content manually. Whether you use a self-hosted WordPress.org site or a WordPress.com blog, you can create, format, and post content without leaving the Zoho Writer editor.
Prerequisites
For WordPress.com users
- A WordPress.com account.
- The WordPress extension installed and authorized in Zoho Writer.
For WordPress.org (self-hosted) users:
- Access to your WordPress.org admin dashboard.
- The Zoho Flow plugin installed and activated on your site.
- An API key generated via Zoho Flow.
- The WordPress.org extension installed in Zoho Writer.
Steps
1. Install the WordPress Extension in Zoho Writer
- Go to the Marketplace from inside Zoho Writer.
- Search for and install the WordPress or WordPress.org extension (depending on your blog type).
2. Configure Your WordPress Site
If you're using WordPress.com
- Click the WordPress option from the right panel in Zoho Writer under Extensions.
- Select your blog from the list or click Add New Site.
- Sign in to your WordPress.com account and authorize Zoho Writer.
If you're using a self-hosted WordPress.org site
- Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
- Go to Plugins > Add New, search for Zoho Flow, and install it.
- After installation, go to Zoho Flow in your admin panel.
- Select WordPress.org and generate a new API key.
- In Zoho Writer, open the WordPress.org extension.
Enter your Base URL and the generated API key to complete authentication.
3. Compose and Post from Zoho Writer
- Open your document in Zoho Writer.
- Click WordPress from the Extensions panel.
- Choose your authenticated site.
- Fill in the post title, category, tags, and description (Optional)
- Choose how you want to publish: Publish Now/Schedule for Later/ Save as Draft
You can opt to retain or strip styles like formatting, heading tags, and links.
Troubleshooting
1. Error/Symptom: Unable to authenticate WordPress.org
Possible cause: Zoho Flow plugin might not be not installed, or the API key could be incorrect or missing
Recommended solution: Ensure Zoho Flow plugin is installed and API key is correct. Only one site can be authenticated at a time.
2. Error/Symptom: Post not appearing in WordPress
Possible cause: Post may be saved as a draft or published under the wrong user/site
Recommended solution: Make sure you're publishing under the correct site and user. Refresh your WordPress dashboard or check under "Drafts."
3. Error/Symptom: WordPress is not listed under Extensions
Possible cause: Extension may not be installed or authorized
Recommended solution: Go to the Marketplace and verify that the extension is installed and authorized.
4. Error/Symptom: Error in API key
Possible cause: API key may have expired, been revoked, or copied incorrectly
Recommended solution: Revoke and regenerate the API key from the Zoho Flow plugin in your WordPress admin.
