Retention analysis in Apptics
In Apptics, retention analysis is device-based. A device is considered to be retained for the day if at least one active session happens within the device, on that day.
Day-0 count
After knowing the number of retained devices for a particular day, the retention rates are calculated as the percentage of devices on which at least one session has happened from the start date (day-0).
- Navigate to Marketer > Retention.
- Select the date range for which you want the retention rate.
- The retention graph will load on the screen.
- You can click on Filter to analyze the retention rate based on various attributes such as platform, OS version, app version, device model and type, and country.
Retention analysis using retention graphs
You can track the retention rate for your app over days (from day-0), weeks (from week-0), and months (from month-0). Based on this calculation, you can analyze daily, weekly, and monthly retention graphs to know the daily/weekly/monthly retention rates for your app from day-0.
Studying retention graphs helps you find answers to questions like:
- How many users revisit your app?
- How often users engage with your app?
- What is the percentage of retained active users who started using your app since last week?
Types of retention graphs
- Retention analysis graph - This graph provides you with the retention rate for each day/week/month, till the last day of the selected date/week/month range.
- Start Date/Week/Month retention graph - This graph provides the retention rate and the number of devices retained from the start date/week/month till the end date of the selected date/week/month range.
- Day-0/Week-0/Month-0 retention graph - This graph provides the Day-0/Week-0/Month-0 retention rate and the number of devices retained from each day/week/month from the selected date/week/month range.
Note: Initial unique device where at least one session has occurred is counted for Day-0. The next day, the same device is counted as retained when at least one session occurs (provided, the device is already considered for the initial count). If the device is new for the next day, it is counted as the unique device count for that day.
