Creating automated reminders for courses
Create automated notifications to remind learners about completions or deadlines of published courses. Course reminders can help you boost the engagement in your courses by alerting users about their enrollment or course expiry.
Automating course expiration notifications ensures learners receive timely alerts, boosting engagement by effectively informing them about upcoming deadlines. Post-enrollment reminders encourage learners to start the course and prompt those in progress to complete the course.
To create a course reminder:
- Navigate to the course from the My Authoring tab.
- Go to the Automation tab, then go to Reminder tab.
- Click Add a reminder button.
4. Give a name for your reminder in the Name text box.
5. Select the event for which you want to send the reminder in the Reminder criteria drop-down.
- If you want to send a reminder after the user has enrolled in course, select Days after course enrollment and give the number of days after which you want to send the reminder in the Days text box.
- If you want to remind the user about the expiry of a course, select Days before course expiry and give the number of days before which you want to send the reminder in the Days text box.
- If you want to send a reminder on a specific date, choose On a Specific Date and set the date.
6. Select the time of the day at which you want to send the reminder in the Reminder Time dropdown.
7. Choose who you want to notify from the Whom to notify section.
8. Choose the frequency of the reminder notification from the Frequency section.
9. Select the notification type in the Reminder notification type section.
10. Edit the contents of the in-app or email notification or use the default notification content.
11. Click Save to save the changes.
Once the reminder is saved, the learners will receive notifications based on the specifications. The learner can navigate to the course from the reminder and complete it.
To edit the reminder:
- Navigate to the course from the My Authoring tab.
- Go to the Automation tab, then go to Reminder tab.
- Go to the reminder from the list, then click the More Options icon (
).
4. Click Edit.
5. Make the changes and click Save.
To disable the reminder
- Navigate to the course from the My Authoring tab.
- Go to the Automation tab, then go to Reminder tab.
- Go to the reminder from the list, then click the More Options icon (
- Click Disable.
To delete the reminder:
- Navigate to the course from the My Authoring tab.
- Go to the Automation tab, then go to Reminder tab.
- Go to the reminder from the list, then click the More Options icon (
).
- Click Delete.
Course reminders is available only in our Professional plan.
