#7 Zoho Books Digest

Hello everybody!

We are back with the 7th edition of the Zoho Books Digest! Let’s jump right in and take a look at all the new features, announcements, and customer stories we have in store for you.

Feature Spotlight

In this edition of Digest, we would like to bring budgeting feature to the fore. Budgeting is an important financial habit for all businesses, irrespective of their size. With the budgeting feature of Zoho Books, businesses can identify available capital, get an estimate of their expenditures, and anticipate incoming revenue.

To create budgets, go to Accountant > Budgets and click + New Budget in the top right corner. You can now:

Create budgets effortlessly by either:

Enter them manually
Auto-filling income and expense accounts
Pre-filling accounts based on a previous year’s actuals

Forecast your company’s finances and compare budgets vs. actuals using budget summary reports like:

Profit and Loss
Balance Sheet
Cash Flow Statement

You can learn more about creating budgets and the related reports in our help document. The budgeting feature is available in the Premium and above plans of all editions.

What's New

Collaborating with your colleagues is now so much easier! The new chat bar from Zoho Cliq will allow users to communicate with their colleagues and work more fluidly without the hassle of switching tabs between Zoho Books and Zoho Cliq. This feature is a part of the Zoho Cliq integration, so you'll have to enable the integration (if you haven't yet).

To enable the chat bar: Go to Settings > Integrations > Zoho Apps. Click Connect next to Zoho Cliq and slide the toggle button next to the Zoho Cliq Chat Bar within Zoho Books option.

Replacing Authtokens with OAuth by 30 August

We are removing Authtoken support for Zoho Books APIs by August 30, 2021. This change is part of switching to OAuth 2.0, a more secure and robust protocol. Please make sure you replace Authtokens with OAuth as soon as possible.
