Revamped UI

With a brand new look, comes a whole new approach – introducing modes, a simpler way to write. The Compose mode gives you a space to write without distractions. Switch to the Review mode when it's time to add other people to the equation, and get feedback from your peers. When you're done, reach your audience with the Distribute mode.

Zoho Writer's main tools are still intact, but they've been reorganized to appear only when you need them. During each phase of writing, you'll have everything you need for the task at hand.

Enhanced Collaboration

Lock sections 

Sometimes portions of a document are finalized while other parts are still getting revised. When you're working on contracts or complex technical documents, it's important that some phrases don't change. Now you can lock those portions of a document and collaborate on the rest without worrying about important terms or phrases getting changed.

Mark a document as final
Reviews can go on for multiple rounds, but after you are done editing and are happy with the result, you can mark the document as final and avoid any more edits. It also helps you to instantly identify the final copy, and avoid the chaos of twiddling through multiple versions.

View status of sharing 

When you share a document, a few collaborators might view it right away while few might take their time. Before, you only knew that someone saw your document if they left edits in it. Now, you can see each collaborator's status (Viewed, Yet to View, or Active Now) in the Collaborators List.

New and Improved Reviewing

Links to comments

Directing someone's attention to a discussion in a document filled with comments, it can be difficult to help them find it. Now you can share links to individual comments and help collaborators find their bearings quickly.

Like comments and replies

While collaborating in a team, quickly see which suggestions are most popular. You can now like comments and replies to let people know you agree with what they have to say.

Filtered view for comments

Responding to truckloads of comments can be overwhelming. With the new Writer, you can prioritize which ones to tackle first by  filtering comments based on who wrote them.

Search through comments

Need to find an important comment, but it's been buried in lengthy discussions? We now have a search tab in the comments section designed for you to find any comment you're searching for.
