Zoho Creator Upcoming Updates - September 2023
Hello all!
Zoho Creator is on a journey of perpetual improvement, consistently adding new features and enhancements to enrich our platform. Today, we're excited to bring you the latest updates and enhancements for this month:

Now, let’s dive into each of this month’s updates.
Global variables
With the introduction of global variables, you'll soon be able to declare variables that have an app-specific scope; for example, everywhere throughout a Creator application. Going forward, you can define the variable once, store the data, and then reuse them widely across all other components (like forms), just like you currently do for functions. These variables can be updated from any part of the application.
Consequently, we'll be launching a centralized space under Application Settings, from where you can define and manage global variables for that particular application.

Where do I find them?
Navigate to the required application, and then go to Application Settings > Variables. Then click Add Variable.

Note:
The global variable will be rolled out in a phased manner. Initially, it will be supported only when used in Deluge scripting. Later, the global variables will be supported in the visual workflows, and form send mail tasks.
Who can access it?
Only admins and those with developer permission will be able to access this section and work with global variables.

New default theme for Live mode
We'll be launching a new default theme for the live modes of applications with the aim to provide an enhanced visual experience that's sleek, intuitive, and aesthetically pleasing.
Apart from improved aesthetics, the new theme also aims to ensure smoother navigation and a more seamless user journey by presenting all the components of the application in a neat and organized manner.
How do I get it?
New users: The new theme will be the default theme for all new users who sign up after the date of rollout.

Existing users:
Your existing theme will stay as is, and you can access the new theme in the Themes section of the builder. Learn how to change your theme

Developer Month appreciation cards
Creator Developer's Month is back! We're thrilled to unveil the month-long celebration as a token of appreciation for the brilliant minds out there who have hopped on to our low-code platform.
During this year's Developer Month, you'll be able to get eight different appreciation cards. These certificates are more than just badges of honor, they're a testament to your dedication, and expertise.

How do I get them?
You can get them by clicking on the gift card icon in the bottom-left of your screen in Creator.
Note: The gift icon will also be featured in the Deluge Editor across all of Zoho's services. You'll also be able to download the appreciation cards from there.

Enhancements and changes in Deluge

As announced previously about the changes to the multi-select
and composite
fields, we'll be launching a bunch of behind-the-scenes updates in order to improve and augment Deluge's overall performance. Due to these updates, there will be a slight change in the way some Deluge features will behave, which were clearly explained in the previous post. After providing ample time for you to get accustomed to the changes, we've decided to proceed with the updates rollout for all users.
