Zoho Vault Extension for Zoho Desk


Hello,

Today we are excited to announce the general availability of the Zoho Vault extension for Zoho Desk, our customer service software. This extension will help users to quickly store, modify, and share passwords directly from Zoho Desk. Agents can concentrate on resolving customer queries while Zoho Vault will take care of their password problems.


Pre-requisites :
  • A valid Zoho Desk account with admin privilege.
  • A valid Zoho Vault account with subscription.

Installing the Zoho Vault extension:

You can install Zoho Vault in two ways. Visit the   Zoho Marketplace  or log in to your Zoho Desk account to install it. 


To Install Zoho Vault from Zoho Marketplace:
  • Go to: https://marketplace.zoho.com/desk/zoho-vault-for-zoho-desk
  • Click the Install button.
  • If you're already logged in to any Zoho service, your details will be auto-fetched. You can edit your details as per your requirements.
  • Select the tick box if you wish to be contacted regarding products offers and promotions.
  • Click Continue.
  • Confirm the installation details and click the Install button.
  • You will be redirected to the Zoho Desk. Configure the General Settings ( Specify which profiles can view or access this extension), accept the terms and conditions.
  • Click Install.
  • Click Authorize.
  • A new workflow tab will open automatically, click Accept.


To Install Zoho Vault from your Desk Account:
  • Log in to your Zoho Desk as an administrator.




  • Click the Setup icon in the top menu bar.
  • In the Setup Landing page, click All under Marketplace.
  • Search for Zoho Vault in the search bar on the right-hand side of the screen.
  • Select the Zoho Vault extension.
  • Click Install.
  • In Zoho Vault Installation Setup page,
    • Select Profiles and Departments to configure which agents can access the extension..
    • Agree terms and conditions and click Install.
  • Click Authorize in the pop-up window to activate the extension.
  • Click Accept to allow Zoho Workflow to access data in your Zoho Desk account.
  • That's it. You are now ready to use the extension.

Accessing Zoho Vault secrets from Zoho Desk :


Once the extension is installed, the secrets from Zoho Vault can be viewed from from the right panel of a ticket's detail page. 

To view secrets from Zoho Vault:
  • Click Tickets from the menu bar and open a ticket.

  • Click the Extensions icon on the right side of the ticket's detail page.
  • Enter your Zoho Vault Passphrase and then click Open Zoho Vault.
To share secrets from Zoho Vault:
  • Click the Share icon corresponding to the secret you want to share.

  • Choose either Share with Users or Share with User Groups.
  • Specify the users from the drop-down menu.
  • Configure the sharing permissions: One-click Login Only or View or Modify or Manage privilege to the required user(s) or user group(s) by adding them under the corresponding section.
  • Click Share.
To uninstall an extension:
  • Click the Setup icon in the top bar.

  • In the Setup Landing page, click All under Marketplace.
  • In the Marketplace page, click Installed Extensions.
  • Choose Zoho Vault for Zoho Desk from the list of extensions.
  • Click the More icon at the upper-right corner of the Zoho Vault extension setup page.
  • Select Uninstall Extension.
  • Click Confirm.
