1. In a nutshell
Business hours refers to the operating hours of your business/organization. It has three entities:
- Working hours: These are the regular working hours of your business. These hours will be applied as the open hours for all the users, and they will be available for appointments on those hours. Business hours will be the default working hours for all users. However, each user's working hours can also be customized individually.
- Special working hours: These are the extra hours/days, beyond the usual working hours, when your business is available for appointments. Adding this will make all users available for those additional hours/days.
- Unavailability: These are the extra hours/days, within the usual working hours, when your business is unavailable for appointments. Adding this will make all users unavailable for those additional hours/days.
2. Feature availability
- Super admins and admins can set the business hours.
- Workspace admins and managers can view them.
- Staff cannot view them.
3. Steps to define working hours
- Click the Admin Center icon
in the top-right corner of the Bookings menu bar. - Select Business Hours under Organization. You can set working hours, add special working hours, and add unavailability on this page.

- Click the Customize button in the Working Hours section

Select the open hours for all the days of the week. Click Save.
To make a day unavailable, uncheck that particular day's checkbox.

Apply to All option applies the time set in one day to all the other selected days.
You can also add a break time/lunchtime by selecting the + icon beside the required days and editing the available hours. For example, 9am - 1pm and 2pm - 6pm.
4. Steps to add special working hours
You can add additional open hours/days for the business beyond the usual working hours/days. On those special working hours, all the users of the business will be made available to accept appointments. If the users are working in a different time zone other than the business, then the time will be automatically calculated accordingly.
Adding special working hours is useful for weekends or any additional available time, such as special offers, extended hours to keep up with demand, and more.
To add special working hours:
- Navigate to Organization > Business Hours.
- Click the +Add button under the Special Working Hours section. The Special Working Hours sliders will open on the right.

- Enable/Disable the checkbox All day as required.
- If All day is Enabled, all the time slots will be opened for the entire day ignoring the usual working hours.

- If All day is Disabled, you can select a time range, and slots will be opened only for the selected time.

- Add the reason as required.
- Choose the dates and time and click Save.
Special working hours will be added for your business.
5. Steps to add unavailability
You can add additional unavailable hours/days for the business. This can be useful for vacation, leave, or any unexpected work. When unavailability is set for a business, it will be applied to all the users' availability. i.e appointments cannot be made on those unavailable times.
- Navigate to Organization > Business Hours.
- Click +Add under the Unavailability section.

- Enable/Disable the checkbox All-day as required.
- If All-day is Enabled, all the time slots will be unavailable for the entire day.

- If All-day is Disabled, you can select a time range, and slots will be unavailable only for the selected time.

- Choose the dates and time and click Save. Unavailability will be added to your business.
6. Daylight savings limitation
Zoho Bookings has certain limitations handling date and time, which could affect booking appointments globally during the daylight savings period that happens in the Pacific Timezone.
- It is not possible to capture the Date-time value during the following duration, so there is a possibility that bookings cannot be made.
- On the DST start date of Daylight saving time, which happens between 2 am - 3 am.
- Similarly, on the DST end date of Daylight saving time, which happens between 1 am - 2 am.
- This behavior is universal across Zoho Bookings. Please be informed about the equivalent daylight savings change time for your time zone. We're working on this limitation and will get this fixed soon.
