We're happy to inform you that the new and improved chat solution for Zoho Desk, is now live! Powered by Zoho SalesIQ, this update runs both ways and lets you get the most out of live chat and insights, without leaving your helpdesk.
If you're a CRM Plus or Zoho One user, here's a step by step guide to get you started.
- Follow this path within your Zoho Desk portal to enable live chat migration to SalesIQ: Setup --> Chat ---> Instant Support made easy. Clicking on the 'Try Now' option on the banner will kick-start your move to SalesIQ.
If you are currently using SalesIQ, the option to migrate will be available to all Zoho Desk portal admins. However, it cannot be acted upon by the existing SalesIQ portal admin, since one person cannot be the admin of two SalesIQ portals at a time. Please read further to understand why.
- When you hit 'Try Now', all your past chats will be moved to a new read-only SalesIQ portal. You will not be allowed to perform any other action from this portal. Please note that this is a standalone portal, and will not have any effect on your current usage of SalesIQ, if any.
- To continue using Live Chat, you will have to link your SalesIQ portal, available as part of your CRM Plus or Zoho One bundle. After migrating your past chats, the existing portal owner of SalesIQ will be able to click on the 'Enable Chat' option. This will link your Zoho Desk account to your Zoho SalesIQ portal.
- Track all the places you've embedded the Zoho Desk live chat code and replace it with the new SalesIQ code.
We urge you to make the transition to SalesIQ at the earliest. Please note that we will be discontinuing support for the old version of live chat after May 5 2019, so be sure to make the switch before the deadline! Edit: For those of you who have never used the Zoho Desk chat and now wish to link SalesIQ to your helpdesk, please comment below or send an email to support@zohodesk.com. We will reset your chat settings, so that you can link your Desk portal with SalesIQ and begin chatting right away.
