I created a form for a client to fill up some promotions for her products/services. I created a private access to the form and view (for her to add promotions in form and edit/delete promos in view) with the capacity to upload pictures (viewable in the view with function... works great). So far, she loves it.
We also want to be able to feed these informations to her websites. I created a RSS feed (the content is partly in French, and accentuated characters render perfectly this way). I read the feed on her website using the Zend Framework (still works great!), but...
the image is broken. Seems the image is private (need login access - logical I guess).
Is there a workaround? We don't want the use iFrames. Always had problems with cross-domain iFrames... we cannot set the height dynamically. Also, I don't want to expose my admin credentials in my client php code
EDIT1:
In the RSS feed, my image appears this way:
This is done using the formula I've seen repeated again and again in this forum to get to display an uploaded image in the view:
EDIT2:
For those interested on how to read the RSS using Zend, it's quick and easy:
Zend_Loader::loadClass('Zend_Feed_Rss');
$channel = new Zend_Feed_Rss('https://creatorexport.zoho.com/~yourPublicRSS~/');
foreach ($channel as $item) {
echo $item->{'zc:yourFieldID'} . "\n";
}
EDIT3:
I don't want to make the view public so nobody besides my client can make changes (edit/delete) the data. But since I read that it could be an issue in displaying images outside Zoho, I made it public just for a quick test... and it still doesn't work.
I browsed the forum again and again, and made a few adjustment in regard of what I read:
- https instead of http (not working, public or private)
- appending &viewLinkName=myViewLink at the end of the filepath (not working again, public or private)
Testing all weekend, I also notice it is possible to access the view/form using a permalink, even if we are not logged in. This seems to be linked to the fact that I want a public RSS feed (If I authorize public link to the RSS feed, this automatically apply to the permalink, where changes can be done). This looks like an accident waiting to happen.
Either I don't get it, I get it the wrong way or there are some serious security issues.
Help anyone?
