Project Management Software such as Zoho Projects helps you plan, delegate and manage your tasks efficiently. When this tool is integrated with a CRM system, the result you get is an efficient project management system with a focus on the customer.
It is with this objective that we have enhanced the integration between Zoho Projects and Zoho CRM. You can now view, create, associate and manage projects related to your customer, all from within Zoho CRM. Following is an overview of these enhancements.
1. Create a Zoho Projects portal from within Zoho CRM
Earlier, you could integrate only an existing Projects portal. But now, you can easily create a new portal from within Zoho CRM and configure it with Zoho CRM.
2. Set permissions for Profiles in Zoho CRM
After you configure the Projects portal, you can set the permissions for the different profiles in your CRM account. Earlier you had to set the permissions for CRM users separately. But now setting the permissions for the profiles available would suffice. These permissions apply to all CRM users under these profiles.
Also, the role of Zoho CRM users pushed into Projects is set by default as "Employees". In case the CRM users already exist in Zoho Projects before this integration, their roles remain unchanged.
3. Enable client account mapping
Client Account Mapping is a new cool option in this integration. In this step, Zoho CRM looks for a match between Clients (in Zoho Projects) and Accounts (in Zoho CRM). Once it makes a match, projects classified under the Clients are automatically associated with the respective matching account in Zoho CRM, thus saving you the effort of doing this manually.
If you do not want to go through with this option, you can skip this step. However, this is a one-time occurrence. If you skip this step during integration, you cannot go back to it unless you deactivate Zoho Projects and integrate the portal again.
4. Projects Tab in Zoho CRM
You can now view everything about your projects inside Zoho CRM by clicking on the Projects Tab. The projects are loaded in an iFrame window. You can perform all functions you would in Zoho Projects from within Zoho CRM by using the Projects Tab.
5. Associate Projects details after a call
Let’s say you get off a call with a customer and now you need to associate a project and task with them. You can now do this as you log a call. The projects details get added to the respective records.
6. Manage Projects from the Related list in Records details page
Earlier, you could only view project details in the Related List (Zoho Projects) of the selected record in the Accounts, Contacts and Potentials modules. Now you can do much more than that. You can perform several tasks from here such as create a project, associate a project, view project status, add tasks, milestones and bugs. Clicking on a project title here also takes you to the particular project’s dashboard in the Projects Tab.
These are the major cool updates for this integration.
Do check these out and let us know what you think.
