Now Share and Collaborate Files with Non Zoho Users
Sharing files with clients and customers outside your organization was made easy by the password protected sharing in Zoho Docs. But now, not only you can share - read only - files with password, you can also grant edit or comment access for your file and start real-time collaboration with non zoho users.
With the right password, the person accessing the file will have the privilege to edit or comment in the file. No login credentials are required to access the file. You can share the link with all your collaborators outside the organization and start real-time editing hassle free. Currently the edit option is available only for the word documents, but soon you can also share spreadsheets and presentations on web with edit and comment access.
To share files on web with edit access:
- In your Zoho Docs homepage, right-click the word document you want to share, and click Share. The Share Settings pop-up window will be displayed.
- In the Visibility drop-down list, click Public on web with password protection.
- In the Password field, enter a secure password.
- To set an expiry date for the password, click Set expiry date.
- In the Whoever access can drop-down list, click Read/Write or Read/Comment, depending on your requirement.
- Click Save. The link is generated in the Link to Share field, which can be shared with your external clients or customers for viewing.
- To view the link, copy the link and paste it in your address bar. The following page is displayed.
- Enter your Document Password, Email Address, and Name to view the document.
