V 2.8: Introducing registration moderation, Share screen option for meeting participant, better recording quality, integrations module, enhanced user management and more.

Hello everyone!

Here is the latest update from Zoho Meeting. We have updated our product logo, re-ordered home page, introducing integration module, subscription tab, enhancements made for user management, better recording quality and more.

Online Meetings: Introducing Share screen option for meeting participants, removed Make presenter option for presenter, Invite participant menu, participant's audio connection status.

Webinars: Introducing registration moderation, choose time zone option in registration page, registration notification setting.



New & fresh logo 
We have changed the product logo with a new fresh look. Here you go with our latest logo.





Introducing Share Screen for meeting participants 
Now the meeting participant doesn't need to wait for the presenter to make them as a presenter to share the screen. They can just click on the Share screen option on the left pane to share their screen/application. Following this, we have removed the Make Presenter option for the meeting presenter.  Learn more






Introducing Invite Participants in presenter's left menu 
Presenter can now see Invite Attendee option on their left pane to invite participants during the meeting while the other meeting participants share their screen. We have also added  Copy link option to copy the meeting join link to the clipboard.





Participant's audio connection status 
Presenter can view the meeting participants' connected status using the icons shown in the below images. Now the participant's who join from the phone audio will be shown in the  Attendee list with a phone icon beside their name. 









Webinar Registration Moderation 
Webinar presenter can choose to automatically approve anyone who registers for your webinar or can also manually approve registrants.







Webinar Registration enhancements 
We have also added a setting for webinar registration notification email .If the setting is enabled webinar organizer will notify by email for every registration they get for the webinar. 

Webinar registrants can now change the time zone to view the webinar time in their preferred timezone. We are yet to handle the advanced  Add to Calendar  options in registration page.


 


Reordered home page and menu  
We have done a few changes in the UI by re-ordering meeting/webinar buttons and the menu on the home page. We have also introduced  Meet Now button on the home page to start an online meeting instantly.





Introducing integration setup  
You can enable or disable integration with other Zoho services for both meeting and webinar editions. 





Introducing subscription view 
To give more clarity on the editions and add-ons available/purchased by the user, we have now introduced Subscription tab under Settings module.





Enhancements made for User Management 
We have enhanced User Management module to let the admin choose a designated role along with the editions for every user that they add.







Enhanced recording quality  
We have made few tweaks to the session recording which includes better recording video quality.

Webinar enhancements

  • Your registrants can now choose the Already purchased option while registering for your webinar, if you have added the pre-defined custom registration field, Purchasing Time Frame in your webinar registration form.

  • We have now removed the option to start the past webinars. However, you can reschedule the webinar to future date to start the same webinar.

  • Once the webinar ends, the new registrants will be notified with the message on the expiry of webinar.

 

Desktop App Launcher

We have introduced a launcher for desktop app to quickly start/join the session from WebRTC unsupported browsers like IE, Safari, Opera etc. From now on, you, your participants and webinar co-organizers will be needed to download and install the desktop app only once, after which the launcher will automatically run the existing app when you join from unsupported browsers.

 

Calendar

We have fixed the duplicate event entry issue in Zoho Calendar when the setting is enabled. All the meeting events will be created only in your primary calendar instead of the Zoho Meeting calendar.

 

Automated Emails

  • We are now sending the conference details provided while scheduling the meeting Instant along with email invitation when invited from the Presenter toolbar during the meeting.

  • Webinar presenter will be notified by email on the analytics is ready to view.

  • The special characters added in the company name of your co-branding is now shown in the automated mailers.

  • Now you can start or join a meeting from the link in session updated notification email.

  • Now the meeting cancelled notification email is sent to the presenter chosen while scheduling the meeting, when the admin cancels the meeting.

  • We have revisited the content for the meeting updated notification email for the presenter.

  • Now the meeting scheduled user will not be notified by email when they choose the other organization member as the Presenter of the meeting.

  • Proper error messages are displayed while trying to start meeting or webinar from the browsers in mobile devices. 

  • We have now added toll-free dial in number for Germany. You and your participants joining meeting or webinar from Germany can use this toll-free number to join the conference from the phone.

 

Presenter/Participant App

  • When participants/presenter is facing issue while joining meeting/webinar from the browser, one time desktop app download will be prompted now.

  • Give keyboard and mouse control option is now available for all the paid and trial licenses. Presenter from Windows OS can now share their computer's keyboard and mouse control to their meeting participants. This feature requires the desktop app.

  • We have resolved the issue of showing the webinar attendee's video when made them as a presenter during the webinar. Now the video feed works for all during the webinar based on the admin's video setting.

  • We have now handled the reconnection of session recording in a proper way when the Presenter page gets reloaded.

  • You can now see a notification message on PPT application sharing when you try to share the application. Read more.

  • Now the video feed will be hidden and the video mute icon will be disable when there exists a WebCam error after switching the presenter.

  • The issue of video muting icon doesn't get enabled after changing to a working web camera device has been resolved and you can choose to toggle the option.

  • We have resolved the issue of showing black screen to the attendees when clicked on the Stop sharing button in the Google Chrome's notification ribbon before the Share screen button state changes in the presenter app. Now the state is better handled with the exact state of the screen sharing at both presenter and participant's end.

  • The mis-spelled word of Select in the star rating option of webinar polling has been corrected now.

  • The webinar attendee joined from a desktop app now gets the video option(based on the organizer's video setting) along with audio while they are made as a Presenter.

  • The mute/unmute state of the changed presenter's microphone is now retained after reconnection to the server.

  • The audio/video enumeration will now appear in the presenter/participant toolbar joining from the Firefox browser even after choosing the device in the browser's media device access prompt.

  • When the presenter try to join from an incognito browser window, now they will be prompted to download the desktop app, since the sharing screen is not allowed by the default Google Chrome extension setting.

  • Now the audio div is hidden when the webinar organizer revokes the make presenter option from the attendee before they attempt to share their screen.

  • You can now see how to unblock/allow a blocked camera/microphone while joining a session.

  • The links sent through Webinar Q&A are clickable to copy the link and view.

  • We have now resolved the issue of unable to connect to the audio when the webinar attendee joins from the latest version(version-71) Google Chrome browser. 

  • We have resolved the issue of not showing both audio and video devices while joining the session from Firefox browser when the webcam is not accessible although the microphone is detected.

  • We have also resolved the issue of not showing the proper message when the presenter/participant denies the access for microphone or webcam.

  • We have resolved the issue in viewing the recording when the meeting is scheduled by an user in the organization and started by another organization member.
