What’s New this November in Zoho CRM?

The good news at the start of the month is that you are now going to get more for less! You can now enjoy the following features without having to pay more for them. Do check them out right away.

Zoho CRM Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook for Mac
Zoho CRM Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook has now been extended to Mac users as well. You can now synchronize contacts, calendar events and tasks from Microsoft Outlook to Zoho CRM, associate Microsoft Outlook inbound and outbound emails with Potentials in Zoho CRM. You can also resolve conflicts while synchronizing contacts, calendar and tasks with Zoho CRM so that there is no duplication of customer data.

As for the system requirements, this plug-in will work on Mac OS X 10.6 and higher versions. Software required is Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac.

Additional Character-Limit Options for Text Area
When you create a Text Area field for a module, you can now choose between two options with respect to the character limit – ‘Small’ Text Area and ‘Large’ Text Area.

The character limit for Small Text Area will be 2000 while for Large Text Area it will be 32000. 


However, Large text area will not be available while specifying criteria in any feature. Also, the Text Area field cannot be used to sort records in the ascending or descending order.

Enjoy more API Calls
The minimum limit for API calls has been altered. Now you can enjoy more API calls without having to upgrade. Following are the new limits.
  • Free Edition – increased from 250 to 1000 API calls/day/organization
  • Standard Edition – increased from 1000 to 2000 API calls/day/organization
  • Professional Edition – increased from 2000 to 3000 API calls/day/organization
  • Enterprise Edition – increased from 3000 to 4000 API calls/day/organization
Workflow Field Update for Professional Edition
The Field Update option helps you to automatically update certain field values in the records, when the associated workflow rule is triggered. This option was available only in the Enterprise Edition of Zoho CRM. Now it is made available to Professional Edition users as well.
