What's New in Zoho Books - October 2016
Well, October is here and the festive season is officially upon us. With Oktoberfest in Germany, Halloween in U.S. and Diwali in India, if you're wondering what treats we have for you this month, you're in luck!
Prepare yourself to know about all the spooktacular and cool new features Zoho Books has rolled out this month.
1) LET'S ROLL THE i - WAY
Zoho Books recently released a ton of new features in the iOS app.
a) Power packed Zoho Books version 4.0
With the all new Zoho Books Version 4.0 for iOS 10, you can manage your entire business on the go. Reconcile new transactions, create and send invoices, track time for your projects, create expense claims and much more – anywhere, anytime – on your iPhone.
b) Better business starts with better communication
With the iOS 10 upgrade, send invoices, estimates, and customer statements via iMessage and immediately view their status. Remind your customers about the payments before the due date, and get paid right away with the payment links inside their iMessages. Well, if you wish to remind yourself about a payment, SIRI will do that for you.
c) More shortcuts, peeks, and pops!
Using the 3D Touch, you can now do the things you do most often, faster and in fewer steps. Create a new transaction right from the home screen and get a quick sense of its specifics in no time.
To track time for your projects, touch the Timer widget and record your expenses effortlessly using the Today extension.

2) NEW ADDITION TO THE TEMPLATE GALLERY!
a) Introducing Basic template
If you’re a freelancer or offer a service, not worrying about parts, shipping and selling physical products, then you might want to take a look at this template. This basic invoice form is beautifully minimalist and has all the essential fields. It comes without much complexities and looks just as great printed in monochrome as it does in color.
b) Clone your templates
So, you have already chosen a template and made changes in your invoice templates, and you don’t want to waste time re-creating the changes made. Simply use the clone option to replicate one entity template to another entity and record the changes made.
3) KNOW YOUR CONTACTS' DEPARTMENT AND DESIGNATION
With the new addition to the Contacts section, route your invoices and bills to the proper department. You can also record the designation of your Contact person with whom you are doing business with, in case you need to communicate with them later.
You can also map the Contacts' designation and department from your Zoho Books account to reflect in your CRM.
4) KEEP TRACK OF TAX RETURN RATES
Businesses in Australia and U.K can now heave a sigh of relief as you can avoid late payments whether it is BAS or VAT.
Zoho Books will send you automated reminders 7 days in advance. So now, you will never miss a tax filing ever again!
5) LET YOUR SALES AND FINANCE TEAM COLLABORATE
Earlier, if salespeople generated quotes, purchase orders, or sales orders in Zoho CRM, finance team members had to manually import that data into their separate accounting software.
With the new integration, these teams now share a common database and can instantly sync data between Zoho Books and Zoho CRM. Any quotes or invoices created in Zoho CRM are automatically entered as transactions in Zoho Books, so neither of your teams has to waste time with double-entry data errors.

6) VIEW YOUR PAYMENT REMINDERS
While we've had the payment reminder feature in Zoho Books for a while now, we've now made it possible for you to know exactly 'when' the next payment reminder will be emailed to your customer.
7) MORE ON RETAINER INVOICES
Zoho Books now supports Charge Customer option for Retainer Invoice. Payment for the retainer invoice can be collected by manually charging your customer using their card details. You can either charge your customer with their associated card or with another valid card.

You can use the Clone Option to create a duplicate of an existing Retainer Invoice in Zoho Books.
8) SHIP AND BILL ITEMS TO MULTIPLE ADDRESSES
Convenience for your customers should be a paramount priority for any e-Commerce retailer. That’s where Multiple Address functionality comes in. With this feature, you can help avoid the frustration that can occur when you have to deliver goods at multiple locations. Now with the option to add multiple addresses to contacts, you can quickly and easily deliver items to multiple addresses.
