What's New in Zoho Books - March 2018
Hello everyone!
February has been one amazing month with a lot of new features and enhancements being added to Zoho Books. Let's take a quick view at all of them.
Enhancements in the Banking Module
We’ve introduced the option to view all the matched transactions, if you’ve matched multiple transactions to a single feed. You can now search these transactions based on the amount in the feed, against which they were matched. Also, when you reconcile a bank account, you can now group the transactions by deposits and withdrawals in addition to the date.
Revamped Purchase Order Status
We have split the purchase order status into order status and bill status for better tracking. A purchase order will be moved to the Closed status when it is billed. If you’ve integrated your Zoho Books organization with Zoho Inventory, you can configure the conditions to close a purchase order in Settings. Also, you will not be able to force close a purchase order. Read more.
Custom Fields in Zoho Books are synced with Zoho CRM
How would it be if the custom fields you created in your Zoho Books account are automatically available in Zoho CRM? Super convenient right? With our latest enhancement, all the custom fields you create for the transaction modules (Invoices/Estimates/Sales Orders/Purchase Orders) in Zoho Books will be available in Zoho CRM if you’ve enabled the Zoho Finance module in Zoho CRM. You can generate custom reports and custom views based on these custom fields in Zoho CRM
Note: This feature is available only for the users who have enabled the Zoho Finance module in Zoho CRM after January 20, 2018. For other users, we’ll enable this option very soon.
Data Export made secure with XLSX format
Export your data from Zoho Books in XLSX format like a pro! Also, we have enhanced your data security by providing an option to protect your file with a password when you export it in this format.
Designated Zone and its Taxes (For the UAE edition)
Ever since we launched the VAT ready Zoho Books, we have been adding new features to ease the handling of taxes. If you’re a business owner in the UAE and you do business with customers and vendors across designated zones, free zones and the main land, now you can configure the VAT treatment based on the different zones. And, when you create transactions for your contacts, the taxes will be automatically populated based on the zones and conditions.

GST Filing and GSTIN Validation (For Indian Edition)
GST filing option has been moved out of the Accountant module and has been provided as a separate module on the left sidebar of your Zoho Books Org. All you need to do is to simply click GST filing module to start filing your returns. We have also given an option to validate your customer's GSTIN when you create contacts and record transactions. This helps you to check if the customer has a valid GSTIN number that is registered with the GSTN.
Apart from these updates,
there are a few more. Try them out and let us know how they help your business, in the comments below. We will be back again next month with many more new features to help you and your business.
Cheers,
Alen J Abraham
