Cancellation and rescheduling window

1. In a nutshell

The cancellation and rescheduling window allows you to define a period during which customers are allowed to cancel or reschedule before the actual appointment time. 


2. Feature availability

  • Super admins and admins can set this window for all workspace event types
  • Workspace admins can set this for the assigned workspaces' event types
  • Managers and staff can only view it

3. Overview

An appointment can have last minute changes. While a business needs to accommodate such changes, it's also essential to have a clear policy in place to ensure consistency, fairness, and smooth operations. This feature lets you set hours/days before which an appointment can be rescheduled/canceled. For example, if the value is set to "6 hours", an appointment at 6 pm can be canceled or rescheduled by customers only before 12 pm on the appointment date.  

NotesNote: This setting is applicable only for customers who reschedule/cancel from the booking page. This does not restrict the users from canceling or rescheduling in the Bookings in-app.

4. Steps to set cancellation and rescheduling window

  1. Go to the required workspace and click Event Types on the left side pane. The event types added under the selected workspace will be listed.
  2. Hover over the required event type and click the options icon , then select Edit

  3. Click the Scheduling Rules tab on the left. 
  4. Under the Cancelation and Rescheduling Window section, set the period in days/hours/minutes.



InfoInfo: To educate customers about this policy, you can include this info in your booking page. You can also add a terms and conditions message in the booking form and inform customers about this window.
