You can specify the sources for check-in and check-out, enable tracking of check-in and check-out locations, facial recognition, and adjust preferences for viewing and editing attendance entries. Additionally, you can set up reminders for check-in and check-out for employees, enable notifications for managers if their reportees haven't checked in, and enable or disable employee attendance prediction.
Enable check-in and check-out through web and mobile app: Select the options through which you want your employees to be able to check-in and check-out (Web, Mobile, or both).
Zoho People captures location data from browsers for web-based check-ins. However, if the browser's location data is altered by users, the actual location data captured during check-in and check-out may become inaccurate. To ensure accurate location tracking, it is recommended to use the Zoho People mobile app, as it provides more reliable location data through the device's GPS.
Make location sharing mandatory during check-in and check-out: Enabling this option allows employees to check-in or check-out only after they allow access to their location (Web, Mobile, or both).
Regarding location tracking in web:
> When the accuracy returned by the browser is below 1000 meters, the location shown is based on the available longitude and latitude.
> When the accuracy returned by the browser is between 1000 and 3000 meters, the location shown is based on the available latitude and longitude, along with the current accuracy level.
> When the accuracy returned by the browser is above 3000 meters, the location shown is based on the IP address, along with the current accuracy level.
> When a location couldn't be captured, the location shown is based on IP address.
Other options available here:
Track and show check-in and check-out location: Enable this option to track and display employees check-in and check-out location.
Show all check-in and check-out entries: Enable this option to track and display employee's all check-in and check-out times. If this option is disabled, only the first check-in and last check-out time will be displayed.
Restrict check-out to the same source used for check-in: Enable this option to ensure employees check out using the same source they used for check-in (Web, Mobile App, Biometric, or Kiosk). For example, if an employee checks in using the Mobile App, they must also check out using the Mobile App. This prevents mismatched entries and ensures accurate attendance records.
Restrict attendance entries on approved leave: Enable this option to restrict users from adding attendance entries, regularizations, on-duty requests, or hourly permissions on days or periods with approved leave.
Restrict check-in and check-out entries made through iOS assistant: This security feature prevents attendance check-in and check-out commands from iOS assistants.
Show current in/out attendance status: Enable this option to display whether employees are checked-in or Checked-out during their work shift. The possible displayed statuses are In, out, Office-In, Remote-In, or Yet to Check-in. This information will be displayed in the employees' profile view.
Show early/late information for check-in and check-out entries: Enable this option to display whether employees are checked in or checked out early or late on their work shift. This information will be displayed in the employees' Attendance Summary tab.

CAUTION
We recommend using a anti-spoofing, depth sensing mobile device for secure facial recognition. List of devices supported are given below.
Facial recognition can be performed on any computer or laptop with internet access and a functional camera, provided the browser has camera permissions enabled.
Most modern iOS and Android mobile devices with cameras are also supported.
For enhanced security, we recommend using devices that support anti-spoofing features such as depth sensing and liveness detection.
