Change of Flow in Creation of New Account Using Standard Lookup Fields
Hello everyone,
We have changed the existing flow of new account creation through the standard look-up fields, which allows one to create an account with only the Account name. The "Account name" field present in the Contacts, Accounts, Deals, Quotes, Sales Order, Invoices, and Cases allow to create a new account by just entering a name in the field.
Due to the lack of data validation checks or layout rules, a lot of junk records are added to the Accounts module overtime.
To prevent this, we are now mandating the filling of other essential fields of an account through the Quick create form. You can customize the quick create form to your requirement. Henceforth, to create a new account manually the user has to fill the quick create form. For record creation through import or API the behavior will be similar to that of a custom lookup field.
Important dates
- For new users account the new flow will be available from November 9th, 2020.
- For existing users the new flow will be applicable after a month's time by December 15th, 2020.
