Events Renamed As Meetings
Hello everyone!
As events in CRM are synonymous with one-on-one or team meetings conducted for different sales activities, we have decided to rename the Events module to Meetings. The term "Events" has often been misinterpreted as major business gatherings like user conferences or hackathons. So, to avoid confusion, "Events" will be displayed as "Meetings" under the Activities module.
What and where is the change in the v2 APIs?
1. Modules API (settings/modules)
a. The singular_label Event is changed to Meeting.
b. The plural_label Events is changed to Meetings.
Note
The value of the module_name key will remain Events in the v2 APIs, while it will be changed to Meetings in the future versions.
2. Fields Metadata API (settings/fields?module=Events)
The field_label in the Events module will be changed from Event to Meeting.
3. Custom Views Metadata API (settings/custom_views?module=Events)
a. The display_value of the view in the Events module will be changed from Event to Meeting.
b. The name of Custom View will be changed to Meetings in the future versions.
4. Layouts Metadata API (settings/layouts?module=Events)
The display_label of the events will be changed from Event to Meeting.
Note that there is no change in the API names of the module and the fields.
When can you expect this change?
New sign up users see this change from the second week of June, 2020.
For existing users, this update will reflect in their API responses from the second week of July, 2020.
