How to Resolve Outlook App Not Syncing on iOS and Android?

But when it fails to sync, it poses many problems in your work. From incompatible device settings to wrong configurations, there are a host of factors responsible for this issue.   • After that, click the ‘Settings’ icon.

  • Now, below the ‘Email Accounts’ section, choose your email account and tap ‘Reset account.’

  • Finally, tap ‘OK.’

  • Reopen Outlook and see if you are still facing the sync problem.

 

  1. Examine sync settings.

It's also good to examine the sync settings of Outlook if you repeatedly encounter this issue. Once again, launch Outlook and go through these points.

 

  • Go to the ‘Mail’ tab.

  • Now, in the Outlook sidebar, click ‘Settings.’

  • Below ‘Email accounts,’ choose your account. 

  • Enable the switches beside the options ‘Sync calendars’ and ‘Sync contacts.’

  • If you are using iOS, enable the ‘Save contacts’ option. 

 

  1. Reopen Outlook app

Sometimes, just by reopening the Outlook app, you can overcome the sync issues. In order to reopen, you must force quit the app. Trigger the App Switcher in your device and swipe away the Outlook application that is running. After that, relaunch it. The syncing problems are likely to vanish after this step. 

 

  1. Eliminate cache files and data for Outlook

Cache files minimize the startup time for the Outlook app. Outlook generates its own cache and data files. But if the files get corrupted, they prevent Outlook from syncing. So, try clearing the cache and data files. It will not delete your messages or personal data. 

 

  • Head to ‘Settings’ and tap ‘Apps’ on your phone.

  • Pick ‘Outlook.’ Then tap on ‘Storage.’

  • Here, click on the buttons for ‘Clear data’ and ‘Clear cache.’

  • Now, open Outlook again. Sign in and see if you are experiencing the syncing problem.
