Hi,
just tried to test the free remote assistance service to provide support to a friend remotely. This friend garbled his email settings, which was the reason for this remote session. Before this I even thought about purchasing the meeting account to use it professionally at work and considered it a good test before using the remote assistance software for treating real customers.
Session initiation worked without problems, but as the friend has no access to his email I could not use the first option of sending an invitation email.
So, tried the third option. Told him to go to zohom.com and enter the session key. Problem here: The page he got was completely different from my view. Of course I was logged in and so saw a page with a field to enter the id. He was redirected to the meeting.zoho.com page and was completely overwhelmed by registration fields etc. And no field to simply enter the session id.
Ok, there still is the second option. Dictating the complete url ".../join?key=..." via phone and hey, it worked, the plugin got downloaded. But the installation was instantly blocked by the antivirus software, which detected the meeting plugin as a Trojan virus. Telling a computer newbie to override the antivirus-software is nearly impossible, not even thinking about the strong misgiving *really* having a Trojan here getting installed.
After all, I will get into my car and fix the problem personally. I really appreciate the functionality Zoho offers, but this user experience was simply crap. Never again.
