What's Latest in Zoho CRM

The latest enhancements in CRM include the introduction of Zoho Cliq integration with Zoho CRM, Gmail account configuration using Gmail APIs and auto-merge of duplicate records. Read further to learn more.

#1 Bring the sales context to your chat window with Zoho Cliq for Zoho CRM
Zoho Cliq integration with Zoho CRM offers the sales context to your chat messages so that you can share information with peers on chat directly from your CRM. This integration will also create a chat bot called "Zoho CRM" which will send automated notifications and reminder alerts to you on Zoho Cliq. 

With Zoho Cliq for Zoho CRM, you can
  • Share CRM records with peers on chat directly from Zoho CRM

  • Share snapshots of sales reports via Zoho Cliq
  • Trigger Zoho Cliq notifications using workflow rules 
  • Get CRM Activity reminders on Zoho Cliq  
  • Enable SalesSignals notifications via Zoho Cliq 
  • Enter Zoho Cliq commands to fetch CRM information

#2 Merge duplicate records in Zoho CRM automatically
Zoho CRM now facilitates auto-merge of duplicate records. Earlier, when you ran the de-duplication tool for a module in CRM, you had to manually merge the duplicates whether or not they were exact copies of each other. This could be a hassle, when say, a set of records have been imported twice by mistake. 

Now, when you run a de-duplication check, CRM will automatically merge records that are exact copies of each other. Auto-merge removes the manual efforts required to merge duplicates. Only when there is a conflict in the matches, does CRM require you to resolve it manually by specifying a master record that the duplicates can be merged with.


Additionally, you now have an option to choose multiple fields for CRM to base the de-duplication check on. Earlier, you could search for duplicates based on only one field- such as Email or Phone. Now you can search for duplicates based on a maximum of 3 fields.

#3 Search for duplicate records within Converted Leads 
Unique fields in CRM help you arrest duplicates even before they are created. A field is marked as unique by enabling the "Do not allow duplicate values" option for that field. Now in addition to this, when you mark a field as unique in the Leads module, you will see an option to enable duplication check for converted leads as well.

Consider a scenario. You have followed up with and converted a lead called James. Now James is record in the Contacts module. Another sales rep in your team adds the same lead (James), without knowing that the lead has already been followed up with. In that case, there is no need for James to be added as a lead again - it will simply be a duplicate entry.

In this case, you can stop the creation of the same lead by enabling duplication check for converted leads. Once you have enabled this, whenever a duplicate entry is added in Leads, CRM will check existing leads as well as converted leads for matches. 

#4 Set up your Gmail account in Zoho CRM using Gmail API 
Users can now opt to configure their Gmail account in CRM using Gmail API. This is a great choice for Gmail users who wish to retain their emails in Gmail and not have it stored in a third-party database. 

Here is what happens when you use Gmail API:
  • All your emails can be viewed inside Zoho CRM, yet not stored in Zoho CRM's database. You can view emails with all the required sales context and also share you emails with your team depending on the email sharing permission (Private, Public, Custom) that you have been provided with in Zoho CRM.
  • Your emails from contacts that are inside your Gmail inbox get categorised as those from Deals Closing this Month, Open Deals and Customers. This gives you a clear picture of which emails need the most attention. 
    Note that these labels will be available only when MailMagnet is enabled.
