I recently did update the field mapping on our Leads sync services between Zoho CRM and Zoho Campaigns. The end goal is to create tailored email drip campaigns with the use of segments and automation. I understand you can build cadences, email templates, and workflows on Zoho CRM but their email templates stats is lacking in-depth report compared to Zoho Campaigns. Why oh why Zoho is focusing on its ala carte products rather than improving the integrations between their products.
Anyway, I made an automation for our welcome/thank you for our service inquiry leads. They received the email based on the automation and also on the campaign (message) report but I am not seeing it reflected on their lead record on Zoho CRM same goes under the campaign summary of the contact record on Zoho Campaigns. I deactivated/freezed the automation.
What I want to see are the following: 1. The email from Zoho Campaign regardless if it's a simple campaign or using Automation should automatically be updated/reflect on Zoho CRM lead record. I am not seeing Update member status on Zoho CRM for the automation email/message settings. I only see it under Zoho Campaigns basic email campaign advanced settings.
2. Zoho Campaign contact record should also reflect which automation did the contact entered and exited; and which automation email (message) they received on their record on Zoho campaign. (Not just on the automation contact path).
Can someone provide clarity on this on which between Zoho CRM and Zoho Campaign is the best platform for email nurture campaigns? I am very frustrated with the email marketing capabilities of Zoho like seriously it's so much easier and intuitive using ActiveCampaigns, Hubspot, and Eloqua. They are marketing the tool as water down version of their Zoho Marketing Automation platform but it's performing poorly.
We checked the clarification questions mentioned in above post and shared our response below for your reference.

We see that you are using Zoho CRM new sync setup which will update Campaigns details and Member status in Zoho CRM by default. Both Email campaigns and Workflow messages will be updated in Zoho CRM under "Campaigns" related list.
We checked the above shared screenshots and found that you are checking for Zoho Campaigns workflow message details under "Emails" related list in Zoho CRM instead of "Campaigns" related list. Kindly check Zoho CRM "Campaigns" related list under lead/contact record to view campaign/workflow details and member status by referring below screenshot.
2. Zoho Campaign contact record should also reflect which automation did the contact entered and exited; and which automation email (message) they received on their record on Zoho campaign. (Not just on the automation contact path).
In Zoho Campaigns, we update workflow message details under contact timeline. We checked the above shared screenshot and found that you are checking Campaign Summary where we update only Email Campaigns.
To view contact timeline , kindly search for the particular contact using the global icon at right top corner of your dashboard and click on the email address shown in search result to view contact profile. In the contact profile pop-up kindly click on "View all details" and scroll down to the bottom to view contact timeline.
