I figures out how to get the applicants from LinkedIn Recruiter into Zoho. It’s a bit cumbersome, but it works without typing too much.
I assume you are using Chrome as a browser and Outlook as e-mail system.
1. Log into LinkedIn recruiter
2. Go to Jobs, Mange Jobs
3. Select the Job which you want to work with, you can see the list a applicants that have applied on the Overview tab.
4. Click on the Applicants tab
5. Click on the on the first applicant. Now you should see the number of applicants with back and forward icons on the top left of the applicant profile.
6. In the section of the “Recruiting Activities” it will say if the person has submitted a Resume or not.
7. If there is a Resume:
a. Scroll down, where you see the resume, click on the link of it. It will either open a word document or a PDF document.
b. Check if the resume contains the full name, phone number, and email address. If its all there, it’s a good resume and it can be sent directly from word or from Acrobat to Zoho (xyz@resumes.zohorecruit.com) with a subject line that includes the Job name and ends with “ -JobID: xx,”.
c. Those will be parsed and directly associated with the Job in Zoho.
8. If the resume is not there or does not include the name, phone number and e-mail address, it will not parse well. Then submit the LinkedIn profile instead.
9. To submit the LinkedIn Profile, click on the triangle next to “Send Message” button, and select “Save to PDF”
10. The check the PDF to make sure it includes Name, Phone Number, Email and submit that to Zoho with the JobID in the Subject line.
11. Then click on the forward Icon to get to the next candidate and repeat from step 6.
Once you get the process down, it goes pretty quickly. I managed to import 30 resumes in 30 min. If you keep the Job title and ID sting in the clipboard you don’t really have to type much, just click on things.
This is obviously not ideal, but better than nothing, until Zoho improves the integration or improves its Chrome plugin to work better with LinkedIn Profiles
Note:
- The Zoho parser will ignore the resume if it does not have an e-mail or if the e-mail is already in Zoho, ie. if the candidate submitted earlier. In that case the candidate may not get associated with Job.
- The Zoho record will not contain any reference to the LinkedIn profile, will not automatically populate the LinkedIn URL field.
- If someone has a resume submitted that does not contain the email you may send the LinkedIn PDF that has an e-mail , and then later manually attach the resume to the Zoho record.
- None of the notes, mails or activities that happened in LinkedIn will be converted over.
You may do this periodically for the Jobs that you are working on.
All the notes, e-mails, activities should be sent from and recorded in Zoho.
A final notice that the Job has been filled should also be sent from Zoho, not from Dice, LinkedIn or from ZipRecruiter.
Otherwhise there will be no record of it in Zoho. That is a good way to validate the e-mail addresses, btw.
Feel free to comment and improve.
