It's been a year now that we started with our What's New series in 2016. Here at Zoho Books, we have always been working on building new features and enhancing the existing ones. This month we are here again with new features. So, buckle up and read on What's New this September 2017.
Introducing VAT-Compliant Financial Suite for Businesses (UAE Edition)
VAT is getting introduced in all the GCC states - UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Bahrain. UAE and Saudi Arabia are the first two countries of GCC that are going to adopt VAT by 1st January 2018.
The Registration date for VAT in the UAE has been decided on 1st October 2017.
To make your business VAT compliant, Zoho Books is bringing in a lot of new features along with its' new UAE edition. With Zoho Books, you can add your VAT registration number. While generating invoices based on the Place of Supply of the customer, the taxes will be applied automatically. You can choose to classify services as digital services and products as excise product, reconcile bank transactions, generate customizable reports and so much more.

GST Updates in Zoho Books
July 1, 2017, GST was introduced in India. From then till now to make the GST experience better, Zoho Books has always added a lot of features. Recently, there were a lot of enhancements done to the Bill of Entry, Delivery Challan, Debit Note modules, and a lot more. For more information, check our GST updates for July and August.
Updates on "GSTR-3B"
Businesses in India are required to file GSTR-3B, a simple return form introduced by the CBEC for four more months till December. For every GSTIN you have, you should file a separate GSTR-3B. With Zoho Books, you can create your GSTR-3B summary report offline. Read More.
E-Commerce Operators can now link their GSTIN to the invoices and sales orders in Zoho Books when goods are sold through their websites.
Custom field for Users
With our multi-user functionality, you can collaborate with your employees and accountants by inviting them as users and providing role-based access. But now, we've enhanced this feature a bit more and, you can add custom fields for Users in Zoho Books and capture any information regarding them. For example, if you want to keep track of the location they are working from or note down their phone number, you can now do so.
