Appointment limits help control how many times an event type can be booked and how frequently a customer can schedule appointments. They help manage booking availability, prevent overbooking, and ensure fair distribution of appointment slots. Appointment limits can be configured for high-demand services, seasonal schedules, special events, promotions, or specific date ranges based on business requirements.

1. How appointment limits work  

Appointment limits define the maximum number of bookings allowed for an event type or by a customer within a specified time period.

Limit type	Description	Example
Slots per Event Type	Define the maximum number of appointments allowed per day for an event type. Once the limit is reached, no further slots will be displayed for that day.	A legal consultancy allows only five consultation appointments per day.
Slots per Customer	Restrict how often a customer can book an event type, such as once per day or only after a current appointment is completed.	A wellness center allows customers to book only one yoga session per day.
Custom Date Limits	Override the default appointment limits for specific dates or date ranges to handle holidays, campaigns, or seasonal demand.	A legal consultancy increases the above daily consultation limit from 5 to 10 appointments during a special legal awareness campaign.

2. Steps to add limits for appointments

1. Go to the desired event type. Hover over the event type card and click the Options icon  (three dots).
   
   
   
   
2. Click Edit to enter the event type settings. Under Availability & Limits, click Appointment Limits.
   
   

   
   
   
3. You can now configure limits with the below options:
   
   
1. Slots per Event Type :
   
   Choose any one option from the dropdown.
   
1. No limit – Unlimited bookings allowed for the event type.
   
2. Per day – Restricts the number of bookings per day for the event type.
   Enter the number to limit the bookings per day for the event type.
   
   
   
   Example: Limit to 5 bookings per day. Once the limit is reached, no additional slots will be shown.
   Changes are autosaved.
   
   
2. Slots per Customer :
   
   Choose any one option from the dropdown.
   
1. No limit – The customer can book without any restriction.
   
2. Per day – Restricts how many times a customer can book this event type within a single day.
   Enter the number to limit the bookings per day for the event type.
3. One active appointment – Allows rebooking only after the previous appointment is completed, cancelled, or marked as no-show.
   
   
   
   Example: Allow only 1 booking per day per customer or prevent rebooking until the previous consultation is completed.
   Changes are autosaved. 
   
   
3. Custom Date Limits: You can choose the date range and can set both the limits for the chosen dates.You can define multiple rule limits for the same event type. This setting will over-ride the default limits for the chosen dates.
   
   

   Choose any one option under the dropdown.

     Click + Add Limits to set multiple rules for the selected period.
     
     
     
     Example: Limit customers to 1 booking per day across all event types.Set a separate limit of 3 bookings for a specific event type between August 1 – August 31.

   Click Save to apply changes.
